Why You Should Moisturize Your Nails

Over time if you do not look after your fingernails and toenails then they can become damaged. Often one of the main issues is that they can become dry, brittle and end up splitting. Worse, damaged nails can be more susceptible to nail infections. Brittle toenails and fingernails can be avoided if you look after your nails. One of the main ways to do this is to ensure that they are regularly moisturized, so that they maintain their hydration.

When you regularly use nail polish, along with nail polish remover, and go for regular manicures and pedicures over time you increase the chances that your nails may require additional moisturizing. Using a moisturizer can help avoid nail brittleness and just like how you have a skin-care routine it is also good to adopt a foot care and nail care routine as well.

What can I put on dry nails?

If you’re wondering what home remedies you can use to moisturize nails with, then we recommend using our very own Hydrate product. Hydrate is available online and over-the-counter. It has been designed to help moisturize your nails when used on a regular basis. Another benefit of using Hydrate is that it can help promote nail growth. So, if you are struggling to grow your nails then this product might be what you’re looking for.

If you notice other issues with your nails, such as subtle changes and discoloration then you may have other problems affecting your nails such as a fungal infection. Nail fungus can spread to other nails and even migrate to other issues such as Athlete’s Foot (and vice versa). So general nail care and foot care are areas that we should keep an eye on, and we should look to address any changes that we come across. If you have issues with foot fungus then we recommend our Clear + Restore product. Typically, it is more common to have issues with toenail fungus since wearing shoes can be a contributing factor.

How do you hydrate and moisturize your nails?

One common question that we’re often asked is how do you moisturize your dry toenails? If you’re suffering from dry nails or are looking to avoid brittle nails then you can use Hydrate to help. The way you can use Hydrate is to apply a thin layer of the product to the nails twice a day. This can be applied to both the nailbed and cuticles and applies to both fingernails and toenails. The good news is that with Hydrate you don’t need to use a separate cuticle cream or lotion.
